If you are suffering from Fibromyalgia, at first you may think you just have a bad case of the flu… you seem to have many of the same symptoms… such as the pain, achiness, tenderness, and stiffness in your muscles. But as the symptoms drag on you know something else must be wrong.
Unfortunately. Fibromyalgia is all too common a condition
associated with muscular pain, fatigue and multiple tender
points. Fibromyalgia symptoms may come and go or last for
years. Between 3% and 6% of the general population is
thought to have fibromyalgia, with symptoms most commonly
found in people between the ages of 20 and 50.
In the US, 8 to 12 million people are thought to have
fibromyalgia symptoms but not all are diagnosed so it is
difficult to know exactly how many people suffer with it.
Fibromyalgia is actually one of the most common diseases
affecting the muscles, tendons, and joints in women.
Fibromyalgia is much more common in females than males with
four times more women displaying symptoms than men. The good
news is Fibromyalgia is not degenerating or crippling. The
bad news is that it can make your life miserable.
Many of the Symptoms of Fibromyalgia overlap with other
things making a firm diagnosis extremely difficult. Anything
that puts additional stress on your body will tend to make
your symptoms worse while things that help build up the body
will tend to help relieve the symptoms. Food sensitivities,
low adrenal function, nutrient deficiencies, metabolic
disorders, and more can all act as stressors to make your
symptoms worse.
Fibromyalgia symptoms can also be aggravated by other
stressors like air pollution (indoor or outdoor), food
chemicals, additives and preservatives, caffeine, lack of
sleep, anxiety, etc.
